As many of you know, our journey thus far has been focused on building the most advanced data management platform in the industry. However, this ultimately meant that we needed to adopt the most stringent of protocols around data handling, security and confidentiality. After a rigorous and thorough systems audit, I am pleased to announce that Superb AI is now fully SOC 2 Type II certified.
What is SOC2?
Created by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), SOC 2 reports assure our clients and any relevant party that we have security guidelines in place and that we strictly adhere to them. SOC 2 Type II reports, in particular, are the most comprehensive certification within the Systems and Organization Controls protocol and proves the system is designed to keep its clients’ sensitive data secure.
Our Journey To SOC2
As we explored options, we really didn’t know where to start. The options were abundant, the steps required were overwhelming and we needed to find an efficient solution because most of our dev teams were heads down trying to push out the latest product and feature releases. It was at this juncture when a fellow YC alum, Vanta, fell on our lap. They guided us through the process and helped our team of 4 project managers install automated systems to identify gaps and where we needed to focus our efforts in order to receive a successful SOC 2 Type II report. This was a massive cross-functional effort across engineering, administration and executive management but Vanta made the process transparent, accountable and very efficient. All in all, it took about 6 months to complete the certification process with Vanta eventually contracting a trusted external auditor to come in and conduct the certification audit.
Our Commitment
It was a great learning experience and after a through debrief, we are more than committed to building upon this experience to deliver the highest standard of data security and privacy. Since we will continue to handle and help manage massive amounts of sensitive data in the form of images and video, SOC 2 compliance was an effort we at Superb AI took very seriously. And because SOC 2 compliance is an ongoing effort to keep our systems continuously safe and secure, we are committed to maintaining our compliance through ongoing security audits and regular SOC 2 Type II reports.
