Executive Summary
- Hanwha Asset Management’s venture fund, POSCO Investment, and other major investors participated in the round.
- Cumulative funding now totals KRW 63 billion (about $43 million), underscoring the proven value of Superb AI’s solutions across real-world industrial environments in steel, manufacturing, logistics, defense, and more.
- New capital will be dedicated to advancing AI technology and expanding globally, with the goal of accelerating AI adoption across industries.
Superb AI, an all-in-one vision AI solution provider, announced on the 15th that it has closed a KRW 14 billion (approximately $10 million) pre-IPO (pre-initial public offering) equity funding round.
The round was joined by Hanwha Asset Management’s venture fund, POSCO Investment, and other major investors, bringing Superb AI’s total funding to KRW 63 billion (approximately $43 million) as it targets a 2026 stock market listing.
Since earlier funding rounds, Superb AI has attracted investment from leading Korean conglomerate affiliates—including Doosan, Hyundai Motor, Samsung Electronics, KT, Kakao, KT&G, and HL Group—validating the company’s technical capabilities. Many of these strategic investors have since become major customers, an uncommon case in which existing customers or potential customers invest not only for financial returns but also for the synergies created by adopting AI solutions.
These companies are actively using Superb AI’s solutions across their own industrial environments, such as manufacturing and logistics. In particular, collaborations with Hyundai Motor and Doosan have accelerated following their investments and are now translating into tangible business results.
Superb AI specializes in vision AI technologies that analyze and recognize images, videos, and 3D LiDAR data. Since its founding, the company has built a data-centric AI development approach grounded in the belief that the essence of AI lies in data quality. Through its flagship Superb Platform—an end-to-end system that automates everything from data construction to model training—the company enables users to develop AI with minimal friction. Superb AI also launched ZERO, Korea’s first industrial vision foundation model for real-world environments, and has demonstrated its technical strength by winning awards in global benchmarks and competitions. ZERO is a general-purpose AI model that can be applied to diverse visual tasks without extensive additional training and is recognized for significantly lowering AI adoption barriers by delivering high performance with relatively small amounts of data.
Superb AI has also been selected as one of the “K-AI Companies,” a group developing national AI models that represent Korea, and is participating in the Ministry of Science and ICT’s national AI foundation model project as part of an LG AI Research–led consortium. As the only non-LG affiliate responsible for foundation model development, Superb AI is leveraging the core technologies behind ZERO to lead the construction of multimodal data for physical AI.
The company currently operates entities in Korea, the United States, and Japan, and provides vision AI solutions to more than 100 enterprise customers worldwide, including Samsung, LG, Hyundai Motor, and KT. Its Japanese subsidiary, established last year, has grown rapidly, adding leading manufacturers such as Toyota and Nippon Steel as customers. Superb AI recently renewed its contract with Toyota and continues to expand its partnership with Nippon Steel, its first customer in the Japanese market. The company is also extending its customer base in Japan to include national research institutes and major consumer electronics manufacturers.
Superb AI’s technological capabilities are also recognized through global partnerships. The company was named AWS Rising Star Partner of the Year last year, and, through a close partnership with NVIDIA, is deepening technical collaboration in video surveillance systems (VSS) while jointly delivering AI projects across global industrial sites—further solidifying its position as a technology leader.
With the proceeds from this round, Superb AI plans to invest aggressively in advancing its AI technologies and attracting top talent, while expanding sales to large domestic enterprises, their affiliates, and a wide range of industries that are seeking to adopt AI. The company also intends to accelerate its global market expansion to secure new growth drivers.
Superb AI and its key investors aim to go beyond simple technology adoption, pursuing joint growth by co-developing technologies and projects, and commercializing solutions through sales and distribution partnerships.
A representative from the Hanwha Asset Management venture fund, which led this round, commented, “Superb AI’s vision AI technology can be applied across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, aerospace, foodtech, shipbuilding, and defense.” Superb AI has won the Hanwha Systems AI Challenge for two consecutive years, underscoring the strength of its technology.
A representative from POSCO Investment, which also participated as a major investor, said, “We began as a customer of Superb AI and were able to validate the effectiveness of its solutions. Based on that, we evaluated the company’s technical strength and growth potential and decided to invest. Superb AI has the execution capability to deliver results across a variety of environments, including manufacturing, logistics, and safety monitoring.”
“It is especially meaningful that this funding round comes from leading industrial partners who first worked with us as customers,” said Hyun Kim, CEO of Superb AI. “By deepening our collaboration with these partners, we aim to accelerate AI adoption across industries and, through our planned IPO in 2026, take the next step toward becoming a global leader in the industrial AI market.”

Founded in 2018, Superb AI is an MLOps (Machine Learning Operations) startup that supports the full lifecycle of AI development. The company provides a wide range of products and services that help enterprises build and successfully deploy AI systems. Its solutions enable customers to construct a complete, iterative MLOps pipeline—from dataset creation, selection, processing, management, and analysis through to model training, deployment, and continuous improvement.
From the outset, Superb AI has focused on supporting enterprises adopting vision AI based on images, video, and 3D LiDAR data. Its intuitive tools allow even users without coding or machine learning expertise to develop and manage AI, with a user experience streamlined enough to build deep learning models in just a few clicks.
In 2025, Superb AI launched Superb AI Video Analytics, a video-based AI solution that detects anomalies—such as fires, falls, and intrusions—in real time across large numbers of CCTV feeds, while also providing text-based intelligent search. Powered by multimodal AI and Visual Language Models (VLMs), the solution delivers higher accuracy and greater usability than traditional video monitoring systems, enabling advanced automation for smart cities, industrial sites, logistics facilities, and public institutions.
The same year, the company introduced its vision foundation model ZERO, recognized as Korea’s first practical AI model designed for direct deployment in industrial environments. ZERO allows users to perform desired tasks using only text prompts or example images, without the need for complex coding or deep ML expertise, and incorporates “zero-shot” capabilities to flexibly handle new environments without extensive pre-training.
Superb AI delivers AI solutions to more than 100 enterprise customers worldwide, including leading technology companies such as Toyota, KT, Samsung, LG Electronics, Qualcomm, Hyundai Motor, and SK Telecom. The company operates entities in Korea, the United States, and Japan as it continues to expand its global footprint. To date, Superb AI has raised approximately 63 billion Korean won (around 43 million USD) from investors in Korea and the U.S. and is pursuing an IPO with a target listing in 2026.
The company has obtained SOC 2 Type II certification, demonstrating its adherence to rigorous global security and operational standards. Within just one month of its founding, Superb AI filed its first domestic patent, and it has since registered a total of 26 patents in the United States, Japan, and Korea related to the auto-labeling and custom auto-labeling capabilities of Superb Platform and its AI development pipeline.
Superb AI offers Superb Platform, a high-performance AI development platform that supports the entire AI lifecycle on a single system, and Superb Service, through which the company’s experts provide end-to-end support—from consulting and data design to AI algorithm development and operations.
